Why hello there, 39 weeks. Yes, I see you there, right around the corner. For a long while, you were this number in the distance. I knew you’d roll around eventually. But, here you are.
Gang. He’s almost here! It’s hard to believe that soon, this belly, these kicks, this feeling of impending change will all be a distant memory. And we’ll be holding our little guy for the first time.
Today’s What I’m Thinking Wednesday is just a few quick updates from the Land of Baby, with some photography and life items sprinkled in.
EATING anything that isn’t too high in salt and that won’t give me heartburn. So, yeah, it’s kind of hard to eat right now. I’m dreaming of that not too distant future again, where I can eat. Bring on all of the foods!
DRINKING a little too much Izze (Clementine flavor is my fave!). Seriously though, it is my go-to and has been for quite some time. It’s light, not too sugary and the bubbles just hit the spot.
READING should actually be changed to EDITING. I’m finishing up just a few sessions and a wedding and then I’m all caught up. Just in time for his arrival!
WANTING to know exactly when to expect him to arrive. I know, I know. And so I wait. And I’m truly ok with waiting. Trying to squeeze our two littles and give them as much love as possible while we’re still just the four of us. I’m only feeling slightly anxious and mainly because I like to plan. I like information. It comforts me.
SLEEPING when my hips don’t hurt and when the leg cramps aren’t completely incapacitating. Which is roughly 10% of the time. HA! Whether it’s age or memory or difference in pregnancy from this time to last, I definitely have some aches and pains that are more noticeable this time. However, I still am getting sleep each night (only waking up for potty breaks and to switch positions to try and be more comfortable). I’ll take it. : )
WEARING anything that still fits. This includes my fave pair of white jeans, a few pairs of shorts and, if I’m feeling up to it, my still fave pair of regular jeans (that are a BIT snug). When I get home, I throw on a pair of Chris’ mesh shorts and a comfy tank. Best part of my day! I can’t complain, it’s been pretty easy up until this point finding things to wear. It’s just this home stretch where I’ve outgrown some of my faves and can’t just wear maxi dresses all the time (girl needs some help carrying this big little man around!).
FEELING excited! We can’t wait for our new arrival. The kids are so anxious too. While I know lots of change is coming, I think we’re all looking forward to a new family member, new routines and lots of love.
LOVING listening to the kids talk about the baby. Charlie assures me he’ll get the baby his pacifier, if it falls out. Abby likes to ask frequently if she’ll be able to hold the baby. They both give sweet Ooooo’s and Ahhhh’s when looking at his tiny clothes and socks. I can’t wait to see big sister and big brother in action.
Cheers to September!
xoxo,
Libby
